Grading policy

Grading is based on Quizzes,  homework, midterm,  Final, and  projects.

Quizzes (expect a few) are short  in-class closed book closed notes exams. They can be held on any day.

The only midterm is in class on Weds. Nov. 4 2009. Closed book. More later on exact coverage.

The final is scheduled to be 8:30am Dec. 14 2009. The final is comprehensive.

Homework will be assigned weekly, and graded. The grading is meant to encourage submission, and we will not argue partial credit

If your HW is only partially complete -hand it in and move on to the next week. There will be around 10 HW assignments. This is your chance to learn the material. Everyone must hand in a unique assignment, including plots and matlab output and files. However, you are encouraged to work together but not permitted to directly copy each other. Exams may ask for matlab snippets (code fragments)
