The interpretation of data is often the hardest and most interesting aspect of science. It is often a long and involved process requiring many people from many fields to work together in order to understand what a given set of data really means. However in our case we are only looking for a basic statement about metalicity within our galaxy.  In order to answer that ask youself 
these questions:

What does this data tell you about the Milky Way?

How can we use what we have in order to construct a map of the galaxy?
