Case 2 - Changing Inlet NH3 Concentration

Condition:

Results:

Just like case 1, the results of Ux, Uy, Streamline, Vorticity, and Pressure is same as those of base case. Only the concentration of NH3 is different. This means the inlet NH3 concentration also does not affect the fluid mechanics. It only affects the reaction. We notice that the conversion of this case is lower than base case. This is because the reaction rate not only depends on NH3 concentration (pressure), it also depends on O2 pressure. (See the reaction rate expression). Because we use constant total pressure in simulation, when NH3 pressure is higher, O2 pressure becomes lower. So it is not always good to increase the reactant concentration.
