For this isothermal flash distillation process, first we have to solve
both the equilibrium equation and the mole balance equation. The two
equations can be combined into the Rachford-Rice equation. Then, we have
to take in account the equation of state, which describes the pressure,
temperature, and volume of the gas and liquid phases. These equations are
shown here.
