- Business is deeply ingrained in society and must respond to many forces
- Business is a major initiator of change (through influence on govt.. and the introduction of new products)
- Society is not hierarchical but an interacting network
- More positive business’ effect on the community the better its chances of survival
- Support is greatest when the benefit to society is greater than the e cost
- BGS is continually evolving
