The primary course goals for this class are for students to:

v      Develop a set of consistent tools for all UWB science classes;

v      Develop an understanding of how science operates in the academic, government and industrial laboratories;

v      Learn how to conduct a literature review;

v      Understand the peer-review process;

v      Learn to develop a focused research proposal and to defend this proposal in both written and oral formats.
