Grading should document the student's performance in a class.

 

In a seminar, in which there is an exploration of the literature and original sources and a thoughtful conversation of the issues and their implications, the grade reflects the degree of the student's involvement in this exercise.

 

There will be several distinct criteria for the grade in this seminar :

1. An annotated bibliography on a chosen class topic (to be submitted no later than the last day of Finals week)

 

2. Submission of at least one relatively short Med-line search on a class topic (other than the annotated bibliography topic, and containing at approximately six references with abstract when available)

 

3. Submission of at least on WEB search (containing at least four URL's)

 

4. Posting at least two comments during the quarter to the class newsgroup

 

5. Attendance
