Puget Sound Writing Project and the National Writing Project

The Puget Sound Writing Project is dedicated to the professional development of teachers of writing from Kindergarten through College. With funding support from the National Writing Project, PSWP works every year with hundreds of teachers throughout the Puget Sound region. For an overview of the Project’s programs, click here.

John Webster has been University Director of the Puget Sound Writing Project since the Fall of 2000. He comes to this directorship having served the University of Washington as Director of Expository Writing from 1986 to 1994, where he was responsible each year for the teaching of almost 200 sections of first-year English. In 2002-3 he served on the College of Arts and Sciences College Writing Curriculum Committee, working with that committee to draft recommendations for extensive change in the teaching of writing throughout the College. He has also published articles on writing in the literature classroom.
