2. NEUROSCIENCE FOR KIDS "SITE OF THE MONTH"

The Neuroscience for Kids "Site of the Month" for July is "The Neuron Family" at:

https://theneuronfamily.com/

Maria Zamfir is a graduate student at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) who has created a web site with drawings of a neuron cartoon family to share her interest in neuroscience. Maria sketches and watercolors her illustrations, gives the neurons a name and then adds a short description about how each family member has something to do with neuroscience. I know it sounds unusual, but the drawings are excellent.

Click on "Meet the Family" to see the current line up including Tennis Neuron, Lady GABA, Curious Neuron, Biking Neuron and others. The descriptions of some of the neurons could use a bit more detail or links for more information, but "The Neuron Family" is a fun, creative way to learn about neuroscience. I hope the Neuron Family continues to grow.
