We dealt with the problem of the variability of skin temperature and the difficulty of controlling skin temperature by spraying the whole body surface with temperature-controlled water.

In the present version of the facility, the subject is supported on open-mesh fabric stretched on a contoured frame. Below and above are arrays of fine mist sprinklers, supplied with temperature-controlled water from a pump. Sheets of thick rigid polystyrene foam are placed to form a well-insulated chamber around the subject.
