POL S 270

Political Science 270 - Introduction to Political Economy
Spring Term 2007

Welcome to the POL S 270 website. This course will introduce you to how basic economic concepts can be applied to political and social phenomenon. In other words, this course is about analytical political economy (often known as "rational choice theory"), as compared to substantive political economy, although we will use several of the analytical tools we sharpen during the first eight weeks of the course to understand the issue of economic development in Africa.

Weekly Assignments

You can find weekly section assignments here (not here, though). These will be passed out in class in hard copy form. If you miss the class where they are handed out, you are still responsible for obtaining the assignment and completing it on time.

Study Guides

Link to study guides. These will NOT be handed out in class. Note: I have not created a study guide yet for the Anderson and Hill book.

Selected Handouts

Selected handouts that may help you in class -- PPFs, PDs and chickens, oh my!

Whine Line

Remember two things: (1) If you want to remain anonymous, do NOT enter your name or e-mail; (2) If you choose to remain anonymous, do NOT expect to receive a reply to your comment.
