Resource Management: Fish

Class Plan Class Plan. Everyone should read the Jackson and Pauly papers for deep historical perspective on the fisheries challenges. Group readings add dimensionality and perspective on intended and unintended consequences of management options. By 9pm on Monday, Nov 23, please post a response to the following questions: 1) What are the most significant challenges facing sustainable marine fisheries in the 21st century and how have did we get into this situation? 2) What solutions are available, how effective are they, and how can we balance their costs and benefits as we attempt to chart sustainability in the future?
