ANTHROPOLOGY 100
REQUIREMENTS AND GRADING
A total of 130 points are possible for the class:
- 9 weekly projects, each worth 10 points for a total of 90 points; due dates are indicated in the class schedule and in the assignment pages themselves
- The final weekly project, worth 20 points; details in the assignment page
- Weekly "stupid quizzes," testing your knowledge of material in the lectures and readings, worth 2 points each, for a total of 20 points.
You must hand in all 10 weekly projects, including the final project, in order to pass the course. No matter how many points you have on other assignments, you cannot pass without handing in all 10.
Late weekly projects (without a prior excuse or written documentation of a medical or other emergency) will be marked down as follows:
- One point off if handed in on the day due, but after the section when it is due
- One additional point off for every class day (M-F, not just the days on which you have class) it is handed in late
- Beyond nine class days late, 0 points for the assignment, but it still counts toward your requirement of handing in all assignments to pass the class.
Late final projects will be marked down as follows:
- June 10: 2 points off
- June 11: 4 points off
- June 12 and later: No credit; we have to get our grades done and handed in.
Point totals correspond to UW decimal grades according to the grading table.
