Keep a consumption log of your activites for two days over the Memorial Day weekend. Every time you eat, drink, wear, read, listen to, use, play, purchase, or watch something (such as TV, live performance, sports event, recorded music, etc.), put it down in a little notebook. Of course, we realize that you may consume some things you would rather leave private.
Write your log up, either as a narrative containing each item you consume or as a list of items with the time and place of consumption. Then write two to three paragraphs clearly stating where you think this pattern of consumption puts you in the American class system described by Paul Fussell, and why.
The write-up of the log will be graded on completeness and detail, and the analytical paragraphs will be graded on the basis of how well you make your case for your class position. Due in your section Thursday or Friday, May 29 or 30.
