RESEARCH
My current research adopts a game theoretic (i.e. analytical) as well as an experimental economic perspective in understanding the organization of generic advertising campaigns. Examples of such campaigns include those for milk and flowers. If you want to learn more about my research findings, please read the following abstract .
I was introduced to marketing models in a course I took from Prof. Ambar Rao at the University of Arizona. I also took courses and worked with Prof. Dipankar Chakravarthi, P.K.Kannan, and Merrie Brucks.
My research is also guided by my association with the experimental economists at the University of Arizona- especially with Prof. Mark Isaac. The Economic Science Laboratory is an exciting place where economic theory is confronted with empirical evidence. During my stay in Tucson, I was exposed to economic theory and method from Prof.s Jim Cox, Mark Walker and Ronald Oaxaca.
I am really fascinated by game theory and its applications to real-life strategic marketing problems. I was first introduced to the subject in a graduate course offered by Jim Ratliff. Jim maintains an exhaustive list of game theory resources on the net.
The most fundamental game is the Prisoner's Dilemma. To learn more about this game, why not play an on-line version?
