I got interested in astronomy as a boy. I always seemed to have other things to do, school, practice, kid's soccer, kid's Scouts or Indian Guides. In 1994 I built the scope from Berry's book. It is a 10" with a tube of wood strips and fiberglass. It sits on an equatorial tracking table designed by Chuck Shaw. (see http://www.tiac.net/users/atm/platform.html) The scope has a camera mount, Dust cover that is also a solar filter, and variable apeture cap, and a home built laser collimator. The scope was awarded "Best First Scope" at the 1995 Table Mountain Star Party.
These are the accessories and the scope. Click for a more detailed description and larger images of the scope and accessories.
