Dear colleague:

As you are aware Ricky turned 66 recently.
We are trying to organize a festschrift in his
honor.  We are currently working on the
administrative details of the festschrift and
hope to announce a call for papers soon.  The
tentative plan is to start the refereeing process
in the summer of 2001 and hopefully have the
festschrift in press by early 2002. We are writing
you, informally at the present time, to  invite
you to submit a paper to his festschrift.

Is it possible for you to let us know if you'll be
submitting a paper to this festschrift? We
understand that your reply does not constitute
a formal commitment.  Given the schedule we
have in mind a response from you at your earliest
convenience would be helpful; please reply to
prabhu@ecn.purdue.edu.
