Environmentalists
Environmentalists
Environmentalists hail from a variety of backgrounds and operate in groups ranging from international organizations, federal agencies, and grassroots campaigns. What these people all share is an over-riding concern for the environment and a dedication to preserving the earth for future generations. Many of these groups are actively involved in trying to change government policies by hiring lobbyists to present their position to those in power. Environmentalist groups believe very deeply in their purpose, and fight for the future of the Earth.
Environmental activists, religious organizations, public interest groups, professional associations and government officials have all raised concerns about GM Foods. Some negative consequences of using GMOs in agriculture have already been identified, and the long-term ramifications for public health and the global environment have yet to be fully understood. As representatives of your player, you must research the concerns environmentalists have about the use of GMO technology, and what effects the proposed No GMO Bill would have on your player’s interests.
“To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human
environment; and to use
all lawful means to carry
out these objectives.”
