Primary Goal<\/strong>: Using the anisotropic shrinkage of fiber composites to create shape morphing metamaterials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Broader Impacts<\/strong>: We can create autonomous shape morphing materials with high strength and stiffness that can be actuated using an external field (like temperature) and don’t need physical actuation. This can be applied for deployable space structures or morphing aerosurfaces for planes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
