Mount Olympus

"Never again," said the guy as he pulled off his boots at the parking lot. "That is too much work for the reward. I'll never climb Olympus again."

Too much work for the reward?!! I am sorry, but this guy had the wrong objective. A climb of Mount Olympus offers so much, from rain forest to montane forest to high meadows. And that is before you get on the mountain, with its phantasmagoric crevasses and ice falls.

Wandering around the Hoh Rainforest

Big tree. We mean Big.

David, Russell, Chrystell and I could not get our arms around this one.

So we huddled underneath a branch.

Chrystell was sleeping on the job.

... Either that or dancing the night away.

David got into the dance thing too.

Some of us kept our heads.

Eventually we got onto the mountain.

One spends a lot of time staring around.

On the way back we took plenty of schmaltzy pictures.

This tree came down between the time we went out and came back.
