(1) Directions from a top manager to a lower-level manager: Conduct a strategic analysis of your department's performance and describe your main findings about the department's strengths and weaknesses. Audience: top managers in company.
(2) Directions from a Human Resources manager to his/her assistant.: Explain the company's policy on the number of employee vacation days given as part of the organization's benefits package. Audience: for company-wide distribution.
(3) Request an information interview with someone who is an expert in your desired career field or industry. In this interview you will gather information to help you with job hunting.
(4) Your family would like a recorded account of its heritage and history. You have been elected to write such a document, which will be distributed throughout your extended family.
(5) You are unhappy with a policy which was recently implemented by your supervisor in your department at work. You believe this policy should be changed, and you have decided to write to your supervisor about changing the policy.
