Letter 346
Euler to Razumovsky
Berlin, May 17/28, 1763
The great generosity that Your Excellency obtained from Her Imperial Majesty reimbursing me for my losses which I suffered on my property in Charlottenbourg warm my heart with joyful recognition to which I enjoin my deepest respect. I beseech Your Excellency to be most willing to accept these feeble remarks since the eloquence is lacking to the express the real feelings of my heart. However, in this inability, I will redouble my effort as much as my zeal for the service to the Imperial Academy and I trust that under the protection of Your Excellency, I can render myself more and more worthy of this sparkling generosity that Her Imperial Majesty has been willing to bestow onto me.
Kindly accept, Sire, the strongest assurances and the deepest respect with which I will have the honor of being all my life[...]
