Assignment 1: Get the ERG up and running
All term projects in this class will be mapping from the semantic
representations of the ERG to some other type of representation, so everyone
needs to be able to produce (and manipulate) ERG-produced MRSs. The
DELPH-IN consortium makes available several processing platforms that
can work with the ERG; which you use is up to you:
The ERG itself can be downloaded here (1111 release; 1212 should be there soon), or retrieved as part of the LOGON distribution (1212 release).
To turn in
Due Friday 4/5, by 11pm.
- A brief description of which processing platform you decided to use,
and any issues you encountered in setting it up.
- A sample sentence (from the data set you plan to target, if you have
already chosen, if not a sentence of interest to you)
- The MRS assigned by the ERG to that sentence. I'm only looking for
one MRS here. This could be either:
- The top ranked parse per the parse selection model distributed with the ERG
- The MRS associated with a hand-selected parse. (A convenient way to do this is with the Redwoods treebanking tool.)
You should indicate which selection method was used.
Turn this all in (as one pdf file) to CollectIt, under "Assignment 1".
