2009

Dr. Liam Pingree's (now at Boeing) paper that images the evolution of transport and photocurrent collection networks during processing of bulk heterojunction solar cells appears online in Nano Letters (2009) 

Kevin Noone receives an NSF IGERT fellowship from the Center for Nanotechnology congrats Kevin! (June 2009)

Undergrad researchers Nick Anderson and Noah Horwitz both receive departmental awards.  Nick the Merck Index award (for 2009), and Noah the CRC Freshman Achievement Award (for 2008, recognized at the 2009 awards banquet)

Abhishek Kulkarni's paper on phase transfer of silver nanoprisms appears online in Langmuir and Kevin Noone's paper about charge transfer in PbSe/conjugated polymer blends  appears in ACS Nano (May 2009)

Yeechi Chen and Joseph Wei both successfully defend their PhD theses  Congratulations to Dr. Chen and Dr. Wei (March 2009)

Kevin Noone's perspective article in ACS Nano appears online (Feb 2009)

Kevin Noone wins 1st place poster prize at MDITR retreat for his poster on quantum dot blends as solar cell materials (Feb 2009)

2008

Brad MacLeod travels (fully funded!) to India in December to participate in the NSF International Winter School for Graduates on solar energy and organic materials.

Obadiah Reid's Nano Letters paper on high-resolution carrier mobility measurements in conjugated polymer films for solar cells is covered in an online article at Semiconductor International

David Coffey was awarded a Materials Research Society Graduate Student Silver award at the Fall 2006 meeting in Boston for his work on studying the impact of film morphology on polymer photovoltaic performance with novel scanning probe microscopy methods.
