Today was my last day in Rome. We did a lot of stuff. I went to the cat sanctuary for the last time. There was a basket that had five tiny kittens in it. They were adorable! It was raining today, but not too bad. A couple of nights ago, at about 5:00 in the morning, there was a big rain storm. It started out with rain, but soon there was thunder, lightning, and hail that was the size of a blueberry. The square flooded and our apartment got wet. For lunch I went to Forno. I had pizza bianca. There is a place next to Forno called Aristo Campo. It serves sandwiches. I usually get the "Pompeo", which is mozzerella, tomatoes, oregano, and olive oil. A bakery nearby has a mortadelle in the window. This is a gigantic thing of bologne. It is 4 1/2 to 5 feet long and about 1 foot wide. I never tried it, but it doesn't look so good. I really liked Rome. There are gelato places all around Rome. My favorite is called San Crispino. My favorite flavors are caramel, hazelnut, fior di latte, and honey. This is one of the best trips I have ever been on!! |
