Today I went to the market in front of the UW Center apartment and bought some noodles and vegetables.

I went to the Forum and saw statues of Julius Cesar and Augustus, another ruler of ancient Roma. We walked to the Colosseum where the gladiators fought. They fought 11,000 animals in one year and killed them all. Then we went back to the Campo di Fiori where we live and then we had lunch and then I did some homework. In Rome, there are ancient water spouts everywhere and the water is tasty and clean. Oh yeah, I forgot I had pizza for lunch. It was so thin. Pizza in Roma is really good. I have had it twice. I haven’t had spaghetti yet but I will soon. It is daytime here and night time in Seattle and there is a huge storm, and I mean huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bocca della Verita
Today we went to a really cool Italian military show at the Circus Maximus. This is where they used to have chariot races. I got to go inside a helicopter and a tank. I saw real torpedoes and I saw frog jumpers, which means that they jump out of a plane and land in the water. Then we also got to put our hands in a thing called the Bocca della Verita, which if you tell a lie, it bites your hand off. In the afternoon, I climbed the Spanish Steps. 137 of them.

On Sunday, we rode bikes on the Appian Way outside of Rome. It was made from Rome to England, it stretched that far. It was really bumpy. It was made out of big and small stones. In the afternoon we went for gelato. My favorite flavor is lemon. At night we went to church at Santa Maria in Trastevere. I couldn’t understand it but it was like a regular mass at school. They were speaking Italian. My parents give me change for my pocket before we go out every day so I can give it to the poor. They make me sad.
