User research

Your goal in this lab is to:

1. Identify a structural inequality
2. Gather data on it to understand it's causes
3. Begin identifying the information gaps that cause it
4. Begin describing those information gaps

To achieve this:

1. Conduct your research.
2. With your teammate, discuss the problems you learned about.
3. Select a problem.
4. Plan your problem definition draft, due at the beginning of our next class.
• What's your argument?
• What research do you need to do to substantiate it?
• Read research literature about it
• Do market research on existing solutions to the problem
• Conduct more interviews and additional user research to understand the problem further
• What's your plan for drafting a problem statement by the next class?
