• Sierra Club rankings blast Seattle's 'sprawl'; Seattle Times, Wednesday, September 9, 1998; by Michael Ko "Destruction of salmon habitats and increased traffic congestion are the primary consequences of runaway development in the Puget Sound area, according to a Sierra Club report being released today that ranks Seattle seventh among the country's "most sprawl-threatened" large urban areas.
