Association of
Washington Geographers (AWG)

The purpose of the Association of Washington Geographers is to promote
the discipline
of geography in both its academic and applied aspects in the
state of Washington. [Article II, Bylaws]
The AWG Makes Available Memberships for (Student-,
Professional and Retired) Geographers. Benefits of membership include:
- FULL VOTING PRIVILEGES IN ALL AWG ACTIVITIES
- OPPORTUNITY TO MEET OTHER GEOGRAPHERS AT TWO MEETINGS PER YEAR,
- ON FIELD TRIPS AND AT OTHER CONTINUING EDUCATION EVENTS
- NETWORK WITH OTHER GEOGRAPHERS IN THE STATE VIA THE INTERNET
- A NEWSLETTER SEEKS TO KEEP INDIVIDUALS INFORMED
- RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF AWG EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
- OPPORTUNITY TO HOLD OFFICE IN AWG
- OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE ON COMMITTEES
- OPPORTUNITY TO BE LISTED AND CONTRIBUTE TO WEB SITE
- THERE ARE PLANS TO PRESENT STUDENT AWARDS AT ANNUAL MEETINGS
