Research Program:

We are working on a project to identify CNVs in schizophrenia. Our sample consists of 100 trios of European descent, all with DNA extracted directly from lymphocytes. We are using an Illumina 1M platform of SNPs, and a variety of analytical tools for analysis. The goal is to determine the de-novo CNV rate, and the relative burden of CNVs in the cases vs. their parents. We also hope to be able to determine whether there is excess transmission of particular classes of CNVs (e.g., in previously-implicated genes, etc.)
