Introduction to Ottoman Poetry

This book, Walter's first, introduces many of the basic formal features of Ottoman "Divan" poetry in a manner that combines an overview of traditional (Arabo-Perso-Ottoman) prosody and rhetoric with a more recent style of analysis and interpretation. It is not a bad introduction but could use some revision and correction. It is also long out of print and not easy to find.
