Faculty members at the University of Washington are expected to participate in multiple academic areas including teaching, research and service. I have been fortunate to have had an opportunity to contribute in each of these areas; some more than others.
I have a particular fondness for the University of Washington. I was a student here (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.) and, after two years of postdoctoral training abroad, joined the faculty. It has been an interesting time. During my time here there has been immense growth and change at the UW. There have also been amazing contributions from faculty, staff and students. This website may help you explore some of these changes and contributions from a very personal point of view.
I retired from full time employment at the University of Washington in 2010. I am currently employed at 40% time doing teaching and a little independent research.
