TAIL LYSIS

You will Need:

Mouse Tails
Viagen direct PCR Lysis reagent (catalog# 101-T)
proteinase K (10mg/ml)
55 deg C water bath
85 deg C water bath


Procedure:

1. To each tail, add 100 ul of ViaGen DirectPCR Lysis Reagent + 2.5ul Proteinase K. Final Proteinase K concentration = 0.24 mg/ml.
2. incubate overnight @ 55 deg C.
3. Centrifuge for 30 sec.
4. Incubate @ 85 deg C for 45 min.
5. Centrifuge for 30 sec.

Use the supernate directly for PCR or dilute 1:4 with sterile water.
