Here are some images showing infant development from minutes postpartum to....

2 minutes postpartum; resting on mom.

10 minutes postpartum; cleaning up and stimulating the baby to cry.

15 minutes postpartum; Mom and baby get acquainted.

Grip reflex well-established; conehead visible.

At 18 hours postpartum, the conehead has disappeared!

Communication begins soon after birth.  Classic caregiver expression on grandma's face gets the baby's attention.  Who knows what he thinks of it, though!

...and at four months...

At 4 months, the baby is pushing up on his arms and holding his head steadily.
He will also attempt to scoot towards a desired object.

Baby sits up with only minimal assistance from grandma.

Or from the corner of the crib.

But then, at age 33 months, he's ready for much more...catch, anyone?
