Assessment

Advising of UW Students:

  • Chemical engineering students admitted as
    • Freshman (direct admits)
    • Sophomores (early admits)
    • Juniors (normal admits)
  • Department advisor (Dave Drischell) handles advising of these students
  • For full sophomore start, all students need to be in department by Winter quarter of sophomore year.

Advising of Transfer (Community College) Students:

  • Currently, most advising is done at the CC
  • Department advisor (Dave Drischell) consults with CC advisors to apprise of current curriculum status
  • Earlier advising needed to prepare CC students for transfer
  • Possibility of transfer in Spring quarter of sophomore year supported by both CCs and UW
  • Other possible options include a Summer 230/240 course sequence or an Autumn 230/240 sequence for transfers.
