Discussion of Final Paper/Project

On June 3, we'll have our final meeting.  As we discussed in class on May 27, we'll organize our time as follows:

- Brief presentations – not more than 5 minutes per person.  Say what you did, demo if possible (given available technology and time limits).  No questions from the audience at this point.

- General discussion of projects – Comments, questions, appreciations, critiques, extensions.

- Cross-connections – thinking and learning about design – Be prepared to comment on these issues:

1.  Unexpected learning:  Identify one thing that you learned that you did not expect to learn or discover at the start of the work.

2.  Unsuccessful learning:  Note one thing that you expected to find or learn while working on your project, but which you did not succeed in finding or learning.

3.  Connection to the course:  Identify one connection between the work you did on the project and the overall structure, content of this course.  (This could be a significant intellectual connection, a sense of negative connection or unhappiness, or a happenstance realization of no cosmic significance.)

4.  Bigger implications:  Identify one implication that your project might have for a redesigned version of this course, for the field of educational, or for information design in general.  (Your chance to be truly cosmic!)

The intent is to be stimulating and allow some chance for comparison of experiences, both on the project and in the course as a whole.  And, note especially that not all of what is requested above is totally serious – there are plenty of possibilities for you to use your imagination and sense of humor!

Think about these questions with regard to your project before we meet on June 3.  See you then!
