Readings for Week 7: Shellfish Post-Mortem

Tuesday, May 14

Today will be our field trip post-mortem. The first thing will be a slide show chosen by from pictures that you mail to Megan R. and Kaley who will present the slide show before Monday evening. If you take pictures on the trip, please send them up to 20 pictures, in format small enough not to overflow their email inboxes. Before 7:00 a.m. on the day of class, you need to post post 200-300 words on What your policies for oyster, clam, and geoduck farming in Puget sound would be, and why. In class, we will build a discussion around your posts. Additional resources you might want to look at include: If you want to read something really comprehensive about the ecology of shellfish farming, you might try Dambault, Ruesink, and Rumrill's The ecological role of bivalave shellfish aquaculture in the estuarine environment

Thursday, May 16

Our usual free-for-all day at the end of a unit. We will spend some time going over the essay topics in light of our field trip, readings, and class discussions.
