LINKS FOR XINJIANG AND FOR ISLAM IN CHINA

First, some oppositional political organizations. As with the Mongol links, some of the older websites have fallen into disuse, and new ones have sprung up. The most up-to-date I have found is the Uyghur Information Agency

Another recent site that seems to be well-maintained belongs to the Uyghur American Association, which seems closely linked (same web-style) with the Uyghur Human Rights Project. The Uyghur American Association site also has a large links page, but some are out of date.

Here is something more neutral:

Human Rights Watch Report on Xinjiang

Oddly, I'm having a hard time finding an official government page on Xinjiang, outside the very brief descriptions in China tourist sites. I'll keep looking, and let me know if you find a good one.

Hui don't have overseas oppositional organizations of any size, but there are some interesting approaches on the University of Maryland's Minorities at Risk site.

Finally, don't forget to Google on your own. Never know what's gone up in the last few days.
