Together with the <a href=\"http:\/\/life.bio.sunysb.edu\/ee\/davaloslab\/The_Lab.html\" target=\"_blank\">D\u00e1valos lab<\/a> at SUNY Stony Brook and the <a href=\"http:\/\/faculty.washington.edu\/jriffell\/\" target=\"_blank\">Riffell lab<\/a> at UW, we will be working on the\u00a0project\u00a0\u201cChance or necessity? Adaptive vs. non adaptive evolution in plant-frugivore interactions\u201d.<span style=\"color: #584d4d;\">\u00a0We will<\/span>\u00a0investigate the coevolution between fruit scents and the olfactory ability and behavioral preferences of fruit-eating bats by integrating advanced tools from analytical chemistry, genomics, and behavioral ecology. Our\u00a0work will focus on two ecologically important groups of tropical plants and mammals,\u00a0<em>Piper<\/em> plants and <em>Carollia<\/em> bats, and will\u00a0be based at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ots.ac.cr\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=162&amp;Itemid=348\" target=\"_blank\">La Selva Biological Station<\/a> in Costa Rica.
