Survey on social capital in Central Asia.  Scott Radnitz, Jonathan Wheatley, Christoph Zurcher, 2005.  (coming soon)

This original survey, of 1,000 respondents in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, covers four issue areas: the (mostly unofficial) networks people rely on for everyday survival; characteristics of official and unofficial leaders and people’s perceptions of the qualities a leader should possess; measurement of social capital in communities (how often people exchange information, where and with whom people interact, and measures of trust); and the institutions that govern social interaction in communities.
