The Pun Lab is part of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Washington. We are also associated with University of Washington’s Center for Nanotechnology. Nanoparticle formulations of imaging and therapeutic delivery agents are revolutionizing biomedical technologies. Currently there are several approaches being developed for cell-specific targeting of nanoparticles from systemic administration, but the fate of these particles inside the cell is often not well controlled. Our research focuses on advancing macromolecule drug delivery technology by developing materials that overcome transport limitations in tissues and within cells. We are integrating techniques from engineering, chemistry, and cell biology to achieve this goal.
