Learning in the Major slides (4-11-08 presentation).
Since 1992 I've been the review editor for the journal Phonology.
Along with Ellen Kaisse and Laura McGarrity, I organize Phonology
Roundtable, a phonology reading and discussion group at UW. We meet
twice a quarter during the academic year, usually at a round table on
the *south* side of 8 at
McMahon. Our default meeting weeks are weeks 3 and 8 of the
quarter. Reading for our next meeting (Wed Oct 8, 3:30):
-
Ch. 3 of John McCarthy (2007) Hidden Generalizations: Phonological
Opacity in Optimality Theory. London: Equinox.
I supervise graduate students:
- Julia Miller: recently passed Ph.D. general exam; working on Ph.D
dissertation
- Sarah Churng: working on Master's thesis
