Two main interests drive my research. First, I am interested in high precision metrology and therefore in the definition of SI units, their realization and dissemination. Second, I find tests of the fundamental law of gravitation, i.e. general relativity, extremly fascinating.

Both fields of interest require the design, setup and operation of precise mechanical apparatus. Careful data analysis and reliable estimates of the uncertainties are required.

Typically, these experiments are tedious and can be published only after systematic effects have been thoroughly investigated. This sometimes requires up to ten years before a final publication can be made.
