- 2007 Invited by Korean Forest Engineering Society to deliver a series of lectures on road systems devlopment in mountaineous areas.
- 2007/2006 Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute; assess current road development needs in Central America and conduct a series of workshops for local road construction contractors and land owners with the aim of reducing sediment deliveries to aquatic bodies.
- 2005 University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; invited guest lecturer for road systems development in mountaineous areas
- 2001- Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Expert witness on
appropriate road construction practices as part of road failures and resulting
damages.
- 1996-98 Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Expert witness
on appropriate logging practices as part of forest fire investigations.
- 1993 Champion International Corporation. Expert witness in the area of historical
logging practices, road construction development for railroad and truck logging.
- 1992-1996 Appointed by the Government of British Columbia, Canada, as a
member of the International Scientific Panel to review and develope forest
harvesting and road systems standards in the Clayoquot Sound Area, Vancouver Island.

- 1992-1994 Developed rationale and basic mission for Forestry Training Center,
