Creating and Using Screenshots in Papers and Presentations

Sandeep Krishnamurthy

Q1:       Why do I need screenshots in my papers and presentations?

A:         A picture is worth a thousand words.

Q2:       Can't I just link to a site?  After all, you just taught us how to add links.

A:         Web sites change all the time.  Links can become obsolete.

I recommend a program called Gadwin PrintScreen.  You can download it here [Scroll down to the link].   Install it on your home PC as well.

Once you have downloaded it, you can enable it at any time.  If you go to a web site and hit the PrtScn button on your keyboard, you will be able to save a screenshot.

You can incorporate a screenshot image in your Word document or PPT file by choosing Insert-Picture-From File.

I look forward to seeing screenshots in your papers and presentations.  [Do you use screenshots when preparing documents for use within your company?]
