Is the Nelson Mandela Digital Archive an example of Digital Humanities?
This artifact is definitely digital humanities. The Nelson Mandela project is a perfect example of a digital archive of a specific journey. It has journal entries from Mandela’s prison time, photos from his speeches, and even notes from political meetings. This project collects, organizes and archives any and all aspects of Nelson Mandela, his followers, and his experiences through his life. This is very much part of the digital humanities, since the archive goes through the life, literature, visions, and philosophies of Mandela and followers. This also follows his journey with seeking to changes the law, both on paper and the general laws of society, which is an aspect of the humanities. The digital archive is set up like a museum, and the information within it is part of the humanities in a digital respect. – Maggie
