The Moon

The following images were made using a sony Hi8 handycam through the 32 mm eye piece with a 2.5 times barlow lens with a 1500 mm. 10" primary mirror giving a magnification of about 250 times. All were taken 4/27/96. They were manipulated using Photoshop. South is up. West is to the right.

The crater Clavius showing Rutherfurd (upper left wall), Porter (lower left wall). The bowl-craters Clavius D,C,N and J (from largest to smallest - left to right) and many smaller craters down to about 2 miles in diameter can be seen speckeling the crater floor.

Copernicus shows its central peaks and the terraces of its walls.

The central crater is Plato surrounded by Montes Alps, Mare Frigoris and Mare Imbrium.
