From Huatulco airport you can walk out to the highway in about 5 minutes and get a bus to Puerto. The buses go by about every 30 minutes. There are SUR buses which have AC and more first class. There are also basic buses that do not have AC. Either is fine if you want to get on your way toward Puerto, which you will want to do. If you don't want to wait on the highway (which is safe) you can taxi into Huatulco to the bus station and get a bus. You would be back tracking this way and loose about an hour. The airport is on the Puerto side of Huatulco. Again, these buses leave about every 30 minutes toward Puerto.
You can also get a non airport taxi by walking just outside the airport entrance. They are about $500 to $800 pesos. I can send a taxi from here for about $1200 pesos but it is about the same to get one from the Huatulco airport to here and the taxis are safe in either case, non airport or airport.
The bus is super cheap, about $5 per person to get to Puerto. They do stop over in Pochutla which is about half way and pick up and then go on to Puerto.
