Fall 04 NWC Students on their way

The Sea-Tac Sendoff

Our 8th year gets underway, finally, after all that paperwork and fretting about visas. I was only able to touch base in person with thirteen of the twenty-four students who left on one of three flights yesterday, Sunday, the 29th, starting at the crack of dawn. Eleven got past me before I could snap a picture and chat, but at least ten of those eleven were confirmed to have checked in and gone through customs. Sorry I missed you. Here are a few photos of those I was able to meet up with at the check-in counters. They were all bright-eyed and excited to get underway. That was 26 hours ago. So as I post these, they must be anxious to get some sleep, finally. Their first night in Cádiz. Have a great year all 40 of you! If you've pictures you'd like posted documenting any of your adventures, send them to me (the pictures or your website photo album address and I'll post a link from the 2004-05 home page. I really hope I am reading my notes right and have the right names for all of you. One blurry picture. Sorry Jessica & Kayleen. (I have higher resolution versions if anyone wants one.

Chelsea Glass and Monika Sakowicz.
Just hope these (and
all) friends use Spanish from day 1!

Brooke Cottrell. She's got it under
control.

Jennifer Iovanne (at least I hope this
is you! Let me know if I've mis-ID'd anyone).

Marie Gauthier and her mother. Another
of the yearlong students, as are most of the ones I caught up with.

Megan Heffner. Sure looks like she's
ready to give Cádiz a whirl!

Jaqueline Dale. As I recall, one of the women with a really reasonable amount of luggage!

Michelle Taylor & Kayleen Deleon. You too will have a wonderful time. Just do it in Spanish

Jessica Thomsen _ Kathryn Brenize. Blurry as it is, these two look like they'll also enjoy the local scene.

Jessica Betlach & her mother. You have to pack a lot in in just 3.5 months.

James Lang, there for the long haul.
He'll need it with all his interests.
