CARNAVAL 2004

La juerga nunca acaba

With less than a month of classes under their belts all serious endeavors come to a halt for the nearly two weeks of Carnaval celebrations. I'm still waiting for pictures, especially of your costumes (tho' mine [a typical Cádiz street] was perhaps the most outrageous, no? It's still adorning my living room wall, getting grungier every day.)

Miguel and Carrie stopped by to show me her costume. I'm not sure if Miguel's is a costume or not, but the cigarette pack on the shoulder is a clue.

Final de Carnaval: Fireworks, twice postponed

Fuegos artificiales

Known by us as "Megan's bar", students frequently stopped by "El Sitio" - owned and operated by Megan's house mom, Leonor Gómez (left). Shortly after Carnaval it closed when the owners decided to move to a larger place, which I'm told serves the same fantastic patatas aliñadas! The night I took this picture I was able to verify that indeed they're extraordinarily tasty.
